A logical extension of offering a Pacific was to also offer a Hudson. The New York Central Railroad bestowed the name "Hudson" in honor of the river that paralleled that railroad's "Water Level Route". The 4-6-4 was basically an extended Pacific, but the four-wheel trailing truck and larger firebox enabled the engine to produce more steam and attain higher speeds than the 4-6-2. Over 500 Hudsons saw service in North America.
The running gear of our Hudson will model a great many different engines and, as with our New Northern, we offer the option of the three-axle Commonwealth or Buckeye tender trucks. This engine is a good steamer and will haul consistently heavy loads.
