Our one inch scale Atlantic is similar to the 1.5 inch scale, with almost every detail being scaled down from the larger 4-4-2.  However, the one inch scale employs slide valves instead of the larger scale piston valves.  The boiler for our Atlantic is steel but a copper boiler may be ordered as an option.  As with all our 1 inch scale locomotives, the Atlantic can be built for either 4.75 inch or 5 inch track gauge.  The engine weighs about 185 pounds which makes it relatively easy to transport yet have enough weight to pull a more than adequate load of five to twelve adults.  This is a fine locomotive to operate and a beauty to display.  The one inch scale prototype 4-4-2 Atlantic model is on display in the Railroad Museum at Lomita, California.
